About M8

Brand Story

M8 is situated 50 meters from Senado Square along Travessa do Roquete, surrounded by eight UNESCO World Heritage sites within a nearby area of approximately a 100-meter radius, making it one of the most densely concentrated areas of World Heritage sites globally. Its redevelopment and trial operations mark another iconic achievement in Macau’s urban renewal efforts.

Originally designed and built by Italian sculptor Mr. Oseo Leopoldo Goffredo Acconci as a postal workers’ dormitory in 1963, the building was once highly regarded. In 2018, this structure saw the opportunity for rebirth. During its redevelopment, M8 preserved Macau's historical memories while cleverly integrating traditional and modern elements, infusing new vitality and becoming the first commercial urban redevelopment project since Macau’s return.

The rebuilt M8 has enhanced the surrounding streets, broadened tourist routes, and significantly improved the community environment. Notably, its façade features the world’s first ultra-large curved translucent stone-laminated glass—composed of approximately 1mm thick natural stone laminated between four layers of ultra-large curved glass—setting a Guinness World Record. The building seamlessly integrates with its surroundings while leading development in the area, redefining Macau’s cultural and commercial landscape. The project showcases the beauty of life and art, presenting unique urban charm.
